Compare the Market has teamed up with British Gas Evolve, Centrica’s newest supplier, to offer customers its Black Friday Energy Offer.

One of the first offerings from British Gas Evolve, the new supplier was set up by owner, Centrica, earlier this year, as a cheaper alternative to the Big Six company.
British Gas Evolve is launching an exclusive deal with comparison site, Compare the Market
Initially launched exclusively through comparison site, Go Compare, the supplier’s tariffs are now available on multiple comparison sites, including Compare the Market.
Evolve says its ambition is to be the largest energy supplier in Britain for residential and small businesses but despite this, claims it will not be competing with its core British Gas brand.
Its exclusive tariff with Compare the Market is fixed for 12 months and is available to new British Gas or British Gas Evolve customers only.
The ‘Exclusive Online Fixed’ deal costs an average of £870 a year, £172 less than the current typical cost of a UK gas and electricity bill of £1,042 a year.
However, it is not available to customers with pre-payment meters.
Payments must be made via monthly direct debit and a customer’s account is managed online only. There are no exit fees.

Centrica initially trialled the new service under BG Lite, which now supplies almost 60,000 business sites, and BGX, which supplies 17,000 residential customers.
British Gas Lite is a fixed price gas and electricity service for small businesses while British Gas X was the original name for Evolve.
