Planning a wedding in 2020 is serious business, at the pandemic continues to stop all large gatherings.
Many couples have opted to delay their big day or hold a tiny ceremony in order to comply with the new rules.
But while the ceremonies may be much smaller, photos of the big day still remain hugely important.
The treasured photos are a record of a very special day and can be sent to relatives and friends who sadly couldn’t make it.
But one couple was left with an entirely unsuitable photo to share after asking their waiter to take a photo.
After getting married, the couple decided to celebrate their nuptials at a fancy restaurant.
But the single photo the staff member took might not be one that they’ll be framing.
The blurry shot is very amateur – with the woman’s cleavage in the shot while the pair’s heads have been cut off.
They shared the photo on Reddit’s ‘Well That Sucks’ forum, where they joked: “Got eloped this weekend then went out to a fancy restaurant to celebrate.
“We asked our waiter to take a picture of us and this was the only one he got.”
While some people were sympathetic, others blamed the couple for asking the waiter to take the shot.
One person blasted: “Almost like he has a job to do and it isn’t photography.”
Another replied: “As a server, please don’t ask people to take pictures with your not-cleaned-in-2-years dirty ass cellphone.
“Especially right now. We have other things to tend to and the last thing we want to do is stop and take countless photos of you when table 72 is glaring through the back of our heads for their 13th refill of diet coke because now I have to stop and wash my hands before I even approach them.”
A third moaned: “As a server…. I f****** hate taking pictures for people.
“I work in a busy restaurant and the last thing I want to do is take a picture of you and your group while I got other s*** to tend to.
“Most of the time it’s quick and painless but a handful of times I’m stuck there while people get their group together and decide whether or not they are smiling, what they should do with their hands, or if they should stand boy girl boy girl.
“I usually rattle off about 5-6 pictures. If the phone owner still is unsatisfied and requests another picture I lose it internally.
“I still have to play nice-nice because I want their tip.
“It’s a stupid thing to drain so much life out of me but I just deal with it so often and people don’t realize how much we f****** hate it.
“Just so we are clear, there is a server out there at any moment who is at their wits-end and an extra side of ranch away from a full mental implosion.
“Pray you are not in the room.”
Luckily, the couple remained in spirits after seeing the photo.
After all, they had managed to get married and enjoy their big day, just in a different fashion to what they had expected.
On Reddit, the social media user revealed why they didn’t ask the staff member to retake the photo.
One person asked: “I’m sorry your picture got messed up, but why didn’t you look at it and ask him to take another one!?
“Unless you used a film camera, in which case this is to be expected.
“This is what every picture I took as a kid looked like (minus the boobs, probably)!
“Enjoy the funny picture and congrats on your wedding!”
They replied: “We just thanked him and finished our meal.
“Didn’t even look at it until the next morning! I have to admit, this picture is a million times better than any mediocre picture he could’ve taken.”
And other people revealed they liked the photo, as they pointed out it was an excellent photo to laugh at in the future.
One person advised: “Frame it. Perfect conversation piece for years to come.”
Another joked: “Well, I see some nice boobs and fancy nails. Not a total loss. Also, CONGRATS!!!”
