Who is Phil Neville?
Phil Neville played for Manchester United and England before turning to coaching
Phil Neville is a former footballer who played for Manchester United and the England national team as a full-back.
He was with Manchester United for ten years, during which time he won six Premier League titles, three FA Cups, three FA Charity Shields, the Intercontinental Cup and the Champions League.
After this, he joined Everton in 2005, where he spent the final eight years of his playing career.
Neville also played for England 59 times between 1996 and 2007, representing the nation at three European Championships.
After his successful stint as a professional footballer, he turned his attention to coaching and is now the head coach of the England women’s national side, a role which he will step down from next year.
He led the “Lionesses” to fourth place at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
He also acts as a pundit for several major sporting channels, having previously worked with BBC and Sky Sports.
Neville comes from a sporting family as his brother, Gary, is also a former footballer and both co-own 10 per cent of Salford City football club alongside other former Manchester United players including Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt.
His twin sister, Tracey Neville, has also achieved much success and she is currently the head coach for the England netball team.
Neville’s son, Harvey, is a currently a youth player at Manchester United and the Republic of Ireland national under-19 football team.
