A woman has told how she came to be in a polyamorous relationship – and what its really like.
Management analyst Janie Frank says her ‘throuple’ is just as loving as any other couple.
Now she has explained how the trio organise their bedtime routine to ensure no one misses out or gets jealous.
Janie is in a polyamorous relationship with Maggie Odell and Cody Coppola, and frequently updates people about their relationship on social media.
Maggie and Cody first met on Tinder in February 2016, but became a throuple after meeting Janie in November that year.
In a video on TikTok, Janie says that while they weren’t planning to end up in a relationship “it just sort of happened.”
Cody and Maggie married in January 2018 at a courthouse and held a ceremony in May, where Janie was the maid of honour.
Maggie and Janie revealed they were a couple publicly in November that year, followed by her and Cody doing the same not long after that.
In a video, Janie says that meeting their pair was the “best thing that ever happened to me.”
The ‘throuple’ say they don’t intend to have children and Janie has racked up 82,400 followers on TikTok, where she shares details of their life together.
In one video, which has been seen three million times, she explains how they manage the bedroom dynamic.
Janie shows off their king-size bed and says that sometimes the couple do all sleep there together sometimes.
She adds: “I sleep in the middle and Maggie and Cody sleep on either end.
“But its not actually normal for all three of us to sleep together.”
Janie then shows off the queen-sized bed and explains how it works.
She continues: “You would think that two people would sleep in the King-sized bed and one person would sleep in the Queen.
“Cause that makes sense logically, right?
“Except that our Queen-sized bed is significantly more comfortable than the King.
“So usually what will happen is two people will sleep in the Queen and one person will get the King to themselves.
“And we don’t have a sleep schedule. Usually we just decide whoever sleeps in the King by whoever hasn’t been sleeping the best recently goes to sleep by themself.”
On jealousy within the relationships, Janie says the threesome don’t worry about who sleeps with who.
She explains: “And we don’t get jealous if one person is sleeping with someone more.
“Actually we tend to ‘fight’ over who gets to sleep by themselves because its really nice to have a bed to yourself.”
Many people praised Janie for being open about how her relationship functions.
One person commented: “This is so HEALTHY, I love it.”
Another added: “I want this kind of relationship, I’m too much for one human to deal with.”
But a third person wrote: “I think I would be too insecure and jealous for this kind of relationship.”
Another joked: “Sounds like too much work.”
